Remineralizing (Fluoride) Treatment

Fluoride treatment is an important preventive care that helps to protect your child’s teeth via strengthening tooth enamel, and minimize tooth decay from harmful acid produced by oral bacteria. It is also effective at remineralizing, or restoring mineral loss of, tooth enamel so that incipient tooth cavity can be “arrested” from further progression. Frequency of fluoride treatment is determined by your child’s caries risk assessment.

Fluoride treatment is most effective when used in conjunction with good oral hygiene regime.  Reducing the consumption of sugary foods and drinks, brushing and flossing daily, and visiting the pediatric dentist biannually supplement the remineralizing effect of fluoride and keep your child teeth healthy.
